Olimpija Kamcheva
Concept 6
Olimpia Kamcheva Stojcheska is a young artist (born August 28, 2004) from North Macedonia. After graduating she moved to Monaco to continue her studies alone. Growing up in the era of 5G internet and rapid information accumulation, the goal of her paintings is to capture the spirit of neomodernism, which emerged from the culture of social networks such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, as well as from graffiti (a recent urban art form from the 1960s-1970s aimed at expressing emotions/ messages through “tags”). Her abstract paintings, which often incorporate elements of Street Art while still embracing the lyrical abstraction of neo-modernism, do not aim to provide answers, but rather to pose questions. It is up to us to discover the answers, our own answers.
6 – is the number of a perfect balance, the number that connects man and the universe. This artistic installation of six paintings explores the symbolism of the number six across different spheres of life, highlighting its meaning as a foundation of harmony, knowledge, and order. In a cosmic sense, ancient peoples recognized six cardinal directions: East – where everything begins, South – warmth and movement, West – the end and reflection, North – wisdom and stability, the Nadir – the depth of our essence, and the Zenith – infinite potential. These six points shape our perception of space and time, giving structure to our existence. Six is the number of responsibility – a reminder that every step we take has consequences. It represents peace and tranquility, as the balance between opposites creates stability. In science, the number six appears as a symbol of perfect structures – from the hexagonal form of snowflakes to the carbon bonds that create life. In religion, we find it as the number of creation, and in literature – as an element of rhythm and symmetry. Six is the number of motion as well – in sports, it symbolizes strategy, dynamics, and rhythm. Whether on the f ield, in books, in science, or in thought, the six is a principle of balance, uniting the material and the spiritual, the logical and the emotional.
