Arktic Circle
With a particular affection for nature and wildlife photography and with an objective of bringing awareness about the necessity to preserve certain regions of the world, Olivier went on expéditions around the globe with support of institutions such as Fondation Prince Albert II of Monaco and the Fondation Nicolas Hulot. The exhibition presented at Espace 22 is part of a program called « Arktic interactions » which aims to raise awareness on the effect of global warming. The program is experimental as it brings exhibitions, workshops, documentaries and a book available now.
The photographies presented in the exhibition retrace years of expeditions in Norway, Iceland, Finland and Spitzbergen. Most of these photographies were taken in extreme conditions during his journey in the north. There are about fifteen photos exposed in Espace 22 and 95 photos in the new book. The aim of the exhibition is also to fund another planned expedition in Spitzber in 2023. As stated by the protographer the funds resulting from the sale of fine prints will serve for the futur expedition which will be called « Arktic Impact ». A web documentary is also planned in order to reach a wider audience.
