Pop Up Gallery Jenk
Espace 22, the one and only ephemeral art gallery in the Principality of Monaco, is pleased to welcome the internationally renowned artist Laurence JENK for its very first exhibition of contemporary art. Known and recognized for her brightly colored sculptures, the artist creates larger-than-life candies, of bright colors and various sizes, in materials such as bronze, plexiglass, aluminum, marble and Murano glass. More than a medium, the candy interpreted by Laurence JENK is a language. Her works are part of a reflection and a cultural process that combines simplicity and universality.
The exhibition of the Pop Up Gallery JENK begins from the ground floor where a multitude of sweets of various sizes and bright colors dress the space. The ceiling, with modern waves designer by the architect Olivier Deverini is reminiscent of the torsion work done by the artist on his works. For a total immersion in the JENK universe, the exhibition continues in the basement where a surprise awaits the visitor. For this it will be necessary to go through the glass staircase, made under the supervision of the firm AODA Monaco, and sublimated by its leds of colors that respond to the colorful sweets.
