The group exhibition *The Spring Issue* brings together a selection of contemporary artists with complementary practices at Espace 22, centering on a nuanced exploration of light, materiality, emotion, and transformation. Painting, photography, digital art, and artisanal craftsmanship converge in an open dialogue of gestures, techniques, and perceptions. The exhibition examines how the artworks shape our relationship with time, nature, and inner space, offering visual worlds where contemplation becomes an active experience.

Julia Jakonda An artist of Ukrainian origin living and working in Cannes, Julia Jakonda develops a practice at the intersection of visual arts, theater, and cinema. Her work employs a language blending symbolism and pointillism, featuring compositions created using mixed media (oil, acrylic, and graphic materials). Her signature format—the round canvas—evokes unity and continuity. Each piece emerges from a state of inner clarity and harmony, resulting in compositions that are dense, sensitive, and structured. Inspired by nature, emotion, and the energy of spaces, her work explores the image's capacity to influence perception and subtly transform the atmosphere of a place.

Maja Kerin An award-winning fine art photographer based in Monaco, Maja Kerin develops a practice centered on the relationship between nature, light, color, and inner silence. Her photographic works create contemplative spaces where the viewer is invited to slow down and reconnect with a sense of presence. Inspired by natural elements—such as the sea, the sky, and shifting light—they reflect an exploration of stillness, transformation, and emotional balance. Rooted in mindfulness and a sensitive observation of the world, her approach turns each image into an invitation to pause and perceive the subtleties of our surroundings.

Designed by Art Vision The studio Designed by ART VISION, founded by sisters Serena and Fedora BONOMI KARKOUR, offers a contemporary approach to digital art that sits at the intersection of art direction and visual creation. The works on display are created by Serena BONOMI KARKOUR—the studio’s Art Director—and are entirely hand-drawn using digital media, without the use of artificial intelligence. Each piece reflects a precise, intentional process in which the human touch remains fundamental. Fedora BONOMI KARKOUR oversees the project’s technical, digital, and organizational aspects. Together, they are developing a shared vision: a deeply human form of digital art in which technology supports the creative process rather than replacing it.

Brett. G Brett G.’s work explores the memory of materials and the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary creation. His approach combines two ancestral techniques: wood marquetry—a legacy of the Renaissance—and Scagliola, a 17th-century Italian decorative art. Through these materials, he develops a visual language in which the medium transforms into image, relief, and illusion. Each piece is part of an exploration of time, the transmission of heritage, and the nobility of materials. Fine woods and mineral textures come together to create a contemporary aesthetic where artisanal precision meets artistic depth.
