Simin Ghoroghchian, aka Vertchy, is an international artist from Tehran, Iran. She started working as an artist in 2012, exhibiting in Lyon, France and has since exposed her artworks in Europe, America, Dubai and Thailand in over 25 exhibitions. In 2020 she started her OriginalEmoj! collection with the aim of representing her generation communication codes through Emojis. In her own words: I am VERTCHY, I find it necessary to say that my name comes from the combination of the words “Verity” and “Virtual”; in fact, this name is the abbreviation of my entire manifest. In fact, I have insisted on a fundamental principle in my collections since the start of my activity, which is the expression of “Changing the Reality Reference”, and “Recognizing Virtual Life and Internet as the Supreme and Common Reality of Today's People".

I believe that the virtual life of today's man is more realistic and liveable than the so-called her / his real and full-time presence in the everyday reality. I've been focusing on creating a meta-reality with Emojies. The fantasy and surreal world that exists only in the Internet world and is a feature of our era. The Internet space that has got out of its exclusive role of providing information and services, and has taken the mission of entertainment and upgrading the reality. For me, emoji represents the replacement of the reality elements in this new virtual reality. I believe emojis are the hieroglyph of our era! A visual universal and common language which can connect us from wherever on the earth!
